Artwalk

The Artwalk was launched in 2017 to artistically represent the diversity of the Reeperbahn - each character is intended to showcase the variety (art, culture, gastronomy, church, red light district) and bring the history of the street's influential figures into public space. It is also about showing that St. Pauli is not just a backdrop, but a special place with special stories and its special personalities. In addition, guests and residents should gain deeper access to the quarter and the entertainment district.

The artist Uli Pforr, who is strongly associated with St. Pauli, has artistically explored the most diverse St. Pauli personalities and brought 13 of them to canvas.
The artist Maaike Dirkx has added the figure to the Artwalk for the first time, matching the "Sexy Aufstand Reeperbahn".
In 2023, a competition was announced for the creation of a new figure to add another St. Pauli personality. The artist Ralf Leidinger is expanding the Artwalk with the figure "Micky Hensel". You can find all the information about the winning design from 2023 here.
In 2024, the Artwalk was again supplemented by a figure. The runner-up design from the previous year by photographer Andreas Muhme is now included. His comic-style figure shows the siblings Nassy Ahmed Buscher and Kareem Buscher of the association "Silbersack Hood St. Pauli". You can find more information about this figure here.
In 2025, the Artwalk will grow by another figure. This time, the personality Götz Barner, aka White Dandy, will enrich the streets of the Kiez. Götz Barner is interpreted by the artist Astrid Stöfhas.
